Dear Friends,

Thank you to all of you who were able to attend our in person workshop at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies in July of 2024. I and my colleague Sue Baily Weaver traveled to New York to share the DAWN Method with a wonderful group of people.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time together in the workshop and chatting informally over meals and into the evening. Though we were unable to teach the entire DAWN Method in a 3-day format, we covered the most important areas related to maintaining healthy relationships. One participant commented, “We immediately adopted her (Judy’s) attitude towards dementia, and began applying her advice in our daily interactions.”

Omega Campus - stairs to sanctuary

The atmosphere of the Omega campus lent itself perfectly to a quiet and thoughtful retreat. We spent time unraveling what it is like to experience dementia and how one can support a person with dementia by focusing on the strengths that dementia does not take away.

If you have ever considered taking a course or signing up for an R&R Retreat at Omega, we highly recommend the experience. There are courses and short workshops on all kinds of topics related to both wellness and creativity. The campus is beautiful and we were very impressed at the level of care put into all aspects of organizing the experience. Thank you, Omega staff!
